Brief Biography
Brief Biography: Fr Adibe was born to the family of chief Ambrose and Janet Adibe. He had his secondary education at All Hallows seminary, Onitsha between 1978 and 2003, after which he proceeded with seminary training for the purpose of ordination to the Catholic Priesthood. He was ordained on July 3rd 1993 having bagged a Bachelors degree in Philosophy and Theology in second class upper grade. Thereafter after a few years of pastoral work, he attended University of Nigeria where he obtained a Masters degree in Philosophy in 1999. He further proceeded to study law in the same University of Nigeria and graduated in 2003 with second class upper division and was called to the Nigeria Bar in 2004 having passed the bar exams in second class upper division also. He also had a post graduate diploma in Education from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. He travelled to Canada in 2004 in pursuit of graduate studies in Law and theology. He attended St Paul’s University/University of Ottawa where he obtained a Masters Degree in Theology in 2006 and subsequently enrolled with the Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada where he obtained a Masters Degree in Legal Studies in 2008.He studied for the Canadian Law program; was called to the Law Society of Upper Canada (LSUC) in 2010 and therefore became licensed to practice law in Canada in the Ontario province and work as notary Public. He worked with the Community Legal Clinic branch of the Legal Aid of Ontario for four years where he specialized in representing low income clients in administrative law proceedings. He has a vast knowledge and expertise of the legal clinical education. He is currently enrolled for his Ph.D in Law at the University of Nigeria, Enugu campus. He joined the teaching staff of the Faculty of Law , University of Nigeria in March 2014. During his days in Canada he has done research in many areas of international law and Human rights especially as it relates to Laws of War. He is also interested in constitutional law and family law.
