Brief Biography
Prof. COB Okoye hails from Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra state, Nigeria. He obtained a B.Sc. (Hons) in Chemistry from University of Ibadan in 1978. He thereafter obtained a Masters degree in Anaytical Chemistry from the same university in 1982 and a PHD in Applied Chemistry from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 1989. Prof COB Okoye started his teaching carrier at the Department of Chemistry, Federal University of Technology, Akure in 1982 and rose to the rank of Lecturer I before joining University of Nigeria in 1991. He was appointed Professor of Chemistry in 2010. He has served the department in various strategic committees and was appointed Head of Department of Pure and Industrial Chemistry in 2007.
